WeTip 2.0 logo with Anonymously Submit a Tip

Newport-Mesa Unified School District (NMUSD) partners with WeTip 2.0 for secondary schools. WeTip is a 24-hour anonymous reporting system (tip line) through which suspicious activity and safety concerns at secondary schools can be reported via phone, text, or an online form

Call 911 for immediate threats or emergencies. Please remember that this reporting system is not a substitute for emergency services, and if you feel like you or someone else is in immediate danger, you should call 911 immediately.

Reporting tips through WeTip:

Tip categories:

  • Bullying
  • Concern for self or others
  • Discrimination or harassment
  • Physical abuse/misconduct
  • Threat to school or person
  • Vandalism
  • Tip Report (other topic)

WeTip is a reporting system for non-immediate threats. All reports will be taken seriously and immediately reviewed by WeTip. Depending on the information provided, WeTip representatives promptly notify district administrators of any tips that require urgent attention. In emergencies, WeTip also directly alerts emergency personnel—such as the Costa Mesa and Newport Beach Police Departments—for immediate response and action. All other tips go to the school and district administration, who review the information, determine urgency, and follow safety protocols, involving law enforcement if needed.

Our elementary school community will continue to abide by the practice of “see something, say something” and report safety concerns to school staff. Families are encouraged to report concerns directly to school staff, helping maintain strong communication and trusted relationships with teachers and principals.

Working together, we can create a safe, welcoming environment for every student. By speaking up, you help keep our schools secure and positive for everyone.
