Principal's Message
Dear Ensign Community:
I couldn’t be more excited about the 2024-2025 school year!
Ensign Intermediate is an amazing school with talented students, dedicated staff, and a supportive parent community all working together with a common goal in mind; to bring out the best in our students.
Ensign Seabees emulate the core values of kindness, respect, and perseverance. These values are modeled in everything we do at Ensign, in the classroom and beyond. We encourage all students to get involved during their time here and take advantage of the social opportunities offered through our school such as activities, athletics, the arts, clubs, and more.
For the 2024-2025 school year, our school’s focus will be on elevating student literacy, which includes reading, writing, listening and speaking. Strong literacy skills allow students to participate in rigorous analysis, engage in rich dialogue, and create strong communication skills - all necessary talents that they will need to thrive in middle school, high school, and beyond. In the classroom, teachers will facilitate opportunities for students to engage with robust and aligned curriculum that provides both independent and collaborative learning experiences for students.
In my 24 year career in education, the vast majority of my time has been spent purposely serving the middle school community. I know that the middle school years are a pivotal point in a young person’s life. I sincerely believe that with a supportive atmosphere, a strong instructional program, and positive relationships, our students will be very well-prepared for the next phase of their young adult lives so that they can go on to accomplish great things.
Communication is critical and I welcome the opportunity to work together. Please do not hesitate to contact me via email, phone, or in-person. I also encourage our parents/guardians to consider engaging with one of our outstanding support groups. Please look on our website for more information about the Ensign Fund, our PTA, ELAC, School Site Council, and our Navigators.
Thank you and I look forward to connecting with you soon!
